The Cataraqui Dental Centre believes that a child's
first dental experience should be a positive one. Often times it is
recommended that a small child be brought with a parent or older sibling
for a visit prior to their first actual appointment. It is strongly
advisable that a child's first examination happen between the ages of
3 to 4 years old and hopefully before there are any concerns present.
This will enable the child to build a trusting rapport with our dental
team in a comfortable kid friendly environment.

Our children's room is filled with toys and
dental education materials specifically geared to children and their
parents. The children of our practice love being members of our "No
Cavities Club" which means if they are cavity- free at their check-up
they have their picture taken and added to our Wall of Fame. All children
under the age of 12 are given dental report cards, which act as great
communication tools between our office and the parents. It is also
a nice keep sake for the children and it provides a means to compare
their advancement from one appointment to the/next. Click here to see

MEET OUR "NO CAVITIES CLUB QUEEN" - SUZANNE POWER

Suzanne has years of experience dealing
with all of the children at the Cataraqui Dental Centre. Almost all
children under the age of 12 years are booked in our kids room and
are seen by Suzanne. She has an incredible sense of humour and compassion
towards children. It is a constant adventure and delight for her to
implement new ways of educating children about their dental health.
Most of our children can't wait until their next visit and often leave
her room with bigger and brighter smiles then they came with.
